Alumni Spotlight: Louis Duffourc

Updated: Feb 16, 2020

When Louis Duffourc joined the JPSO Young Marines (LA) (Young Marines, 4th Division) at 12 years old, he was struggling in school with grades, peer pressure, and bullying. His parents, adult volunteers at the time, urged him to join and he never looked back. "Rising through the ranks, attending leadership schools, and helping others gave me the self-confidence I lacked." Louis was even awarded the Lifesaving award as a Young Marine.

Today, following in his family's and his other JPSO adult volunteers' footsteps, Duffourc is a deputy with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. As a father, he looks forward to passing on some of the lessons he learned as a Young Marine to his young son.

We appreciate Louis' service to our community and are proud to count him as a registered member of the Young Marines Alumni Association! Know an alum that should be highlighted? Message us and let us know.
